That is not what happens. If you were buying overseas it is because it was the lowest price and the alternatives are more. If all your alternatives are more you raise your prices. In fact, many companies are raising prices AHEAD of the tariff impact because the supply of product will be lower. What do you do for a living? I am guessing Walmart Greater.Tariffs are usually covered by an increase on price by the consumer along with a decrease on the price from the exporter in order to stay competitive. It really is that simple even for someone who hasn't completely elementary school.
Hell, even black HS graduates would understand that.
Explain this to a small US company trying to get by...Importers should pay for imports using the currency of the exporting country. That might thwart currency manipulation by the exporters.
How exactly have they been "raping" us?You're about as dumb as they get on this forum.
For decades, Canada and other nations have been raping the United States. Now they whine like little bitches when the tables are turned and all they need to do is drop their tariffs and the Unite States will drop ours.
But you, like the other treasonous POS on this forum are all about fucking the US over and holding the rest of the world blameless.
No specific examples.
Do Foreign Exporters Pay Tariffs?
Depending on the Incoterms used, foreigner exporters in general do not pay for the tariffs. The cost falls on the importer at the border. But that does not mean exporters are not affected. If their products become too expensive, they risk losing sales.
Some foreign suppliers lower their prices to stay competitive. A Chinese electronics company selling laptops to the U.S. may offer discounts to help importers cover the tariff.
Others try to work out deals with importers. A fabric supplier in Vietnam might agree to share some of the extra costs caused by tariffs. This helps importers avoid raising prices too much while allowing exporters to keep selling in the same markets. These adjustments help businesses stay afloat, but they do not remove the impact of tariffs. The cost still needs to be covered somewhere in the chain.
