EV's and electrical storage

I conserve ... I have shade trees instead of A/C ... I only open the refrigerator when preparing a full meal ... short lukewarm showers ...
What a miserable way to live. Just saying. I am old. I like my comfort. So, I enjoy long, very hot showers, and if it's hot out, I turn on the AC.

I intend to look into this Old Socks. Never say never. A car battery is a DC power. Need a transformer inverter setup to convert to house 240/110 AC. Cost $1000s with wiring to switch from line voltage to your new scheme. Joe sixpack aint rigging it up.

Car batteries are 30kw to 100Kw. After you drain them you have to recharge. Nothing is free.

I'm lurking on this. Its a lot of work to find the bottom line.

FORD F-150 Lighting comes with AC outlet. But you need more. No way a 4000sq ft CA house AC is only 4kw. So there's that also.

Also the Lightning is only putting out 110. Appliances need 220. There are a whole bunch of reasons why olfrauds positions are pie in the sky nonsense.

I have all the power saws you'd expect of a journeyman carpenter ... for my woodworking, I cut everything with handsaws ... you think that's misery? ...

There's comfort and then there's just being a Sheila ... just saying ...

Handworking wood projects is different.

And I spent years in hot deserts all over the world. Ghibli's in the Sahara, to Haboobs in Oz, I paid my dues 1000 times over.

I spend almost all my adult life in a lush fertile rainforest ... where clean pure mountain fresh spring water is a nuisance ... and more people own boats than A/C's ...

Truth is our normal high in Summer is mid to high 80's ... my home is fairly well sealed so temperatures inside stay in the upper 70's, 20-30% RH and all is fine ... and there's almost always a breeze ... we do get super duper cold though in winter ... even a dusting snow every few years ... so you know I'm burning anything and everything in Winter ... we had a hard freeze about five years ago ... there was even ice on the ground, that's how insanely cold is was ...
