Unions outlived their real usefulness years ago. Now it is a way to pay the higher ups not to work along side those that the working fool is paying.

How many of the guys working made that or even close? How many hours did the head of the union actually work alongside the other works? All I know is when they were getting bonus unemployment $ during covid and the amount of foodstamps they get went up for a minute, and we weren't evicting people, suddenly the poverty problem was solved. And it cost 1% of what we spend every year. So if we did it right, if we did it better, and the rich paid what they owe, we could solve poverty.

I don't have a problem with minimum wage people getting free healthcare and foodstamps that suppliment their shitty pay.

And solve their rent problem while we are at it.

It's laughable to say the rich pay all the taxes. If you take what we make and add up all the taxes we pay, we pay a much higher percentage of what we make on taxes. The rich don't even come close.

It may be property taxes, sales tax, excise tax, capital gains, etc.

Other Purchase Taxes. User fees are taxes that are assessed on a wide variety of services, including airline tickets, rental cars, toll roads, utilities ...

Minimum wage? You do know that to large parts of the world, $7.25/hour is luxury living?

We will never be rid of poverty. The average income in the US is just under $60,000/year and the poverty threshold for an individual is just under $14,000/year. This is a new world order. This takeover started on Reagan, picked up steam under bush and the final nail is trump. And right now 51% support this. And I get why. I hope this is just the pendulum swinging right for awhile. If elections are rigged, this is the new way moving forward. I survived nafta, bushs Great Recession and my family is rich enough in Russia youd call us oligarchs. So I’ll survive this.
