"Michigan's elections panel voted unanimously Friday to place voting and abortion rights proposals on this fall's ballot -- the Reproductive Freedom for All amendment would add an explicit right to seek abortions in Michigan, giving voters in the state a chance to decide whether to enshrine the right to the procedure in the state's constitution. Ahead of the vote, Reproductive Freedom for All attorney Steve Liedel told canvassers that hundreds of thousands of voters signed their names to the petition -- (more than any petition initiative in the state's history) -- Supporters attending the Board of State Canvassers' meeting Friday erupted in applause when the four-member body voted to place the proposal on the ballot.

The board also approved a voting rights measure for the ballot. It's the second from Promote the Vote, the group whose 2018 amendment was adopted with 67% of the vote and established a right for all Michigan voters to cast an absentee ballot for any reason and eligible Michigan residents to register to vote on election day."

This will be the final nail in the coffin not just for the Democrats in Michigan, but for Democrats nationwide. Conservative groups were doing Dems a favor by trying to fight to keep this ballot initiative from going thru -- but now Dems are about to find out just how unpopular a woman's right to choose really is....the majority of the REAL voters in Michigan strongly oppose abortion rights, especially in cases of rape and incest....

And the one thing that is almost as popular as ending abortion is ending absentee voting........no real American wants to make voting easier -- it should be harder so less people (fake voters) can actually vote...If Dems try to put absentee voting and abortion on the ballots in other states, I predict Republicans will take back the house with a 100 seat majority and take back the Senate with a 12 seat majority..and once that is done, Trump will definitely be re-installed -- because Biden and Kamala will be impeached if not executed...and Congress wil finally pass a law to install Trump as president for life -- which would have popular support amongst the majority of real voters...

No, but all the crime, high inflation and bullshit bill passing will not have Marxists elected.

Yes we need more Marxist women to abort their unborn and even born babies, all the way up to 19 year olds. That would end the wonton murder of innocent children by Marxist teenagers who have been so indoctrinated on taking other peoples lives. Start before they are born....If they make it past the abortion doctors then take them out before they kill again....

"Nothing wrong with abortion, as long as the right people get aborted."

Mods, please explain how the OP fits the 'clean start' rules, when we all know he is intentionally attempting to deceive a few gullible posters?

Denying women choice seems to be an own goal from the fascist party.
Perhaps the GOP needs to move to the next stage and deny them the vote. ?

Helping rapists have babies and murdering women who can easily be saved are not winning political stances

Which state is murdering women?
Executing people for murdering children is not murder...it is justice...

And since these whore mothers are murdering their children, putting them to death is justice...

Unless all of that talk about about abortion being murder is actually bullshit....

If a Red Dawn happened here, the Chinese would take over swaths of our nation easily. Those tough ghettos would be destroyed in quick order. This is what the globalists are doing to citizens of the Western World.

Cuz the important thing is to win elections so they can straighten out other messes. Abortion has always been a sideshow for the Right. Center ring is what is important.

... This will be the final nail in the coffin not just for the Democrats in Michigan, but for Democrats nationwide.
The draconian, authoritarian statists hellbent on crushing personal liberty and arrogating a citizen's bodily autonomy to the dictates of their politicians and bureaucrats are going flacid as they are confronted with freedom-loving Americans.

‘A wakeup call’: more Republicans are softening staunch anti-abortion stance

A growing number of Republicans are changing their positions on abortions since the fall of Roe v Wade as midterm elections approach in the US, signaling a softened shift from their previously staunch anti-abortion stances.
Since the supreme court overturned the federal right to abortion in June, many Republicans are adopting more compromised positions in attempts to win votes in key states through a slew of changes in messaging on websites, advertisements and public statements.

The moves comes amid a ferocious backlash to the decision that has seen Democrat hopes in the midterm elections revived and even see a solidly red state like Kansas vote in a referendum to keep some abortion rights.
With midterm elections approaching, abortion has also served as a prime motivator for women voters across the country, especially among Democrats and fueling striking special-election successes for the party seeking to hold both houses of Congress.
