Elton John: If Jesus were alive today he would approve gay marriage

I guess it's only appropriate to apply the teachings and beliefs and attitudes of Christ to modern times when it suits the modern conservative agenda.

No. Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and forever. He created male and female "plumbing" to compliment each other.

Old Testament: Genesis 2:24, "Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh."

New Testament: Mark 10:7, "For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and cleave to his wife;"

Old Testament: Leviticus 18:22, "Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination."

New Testament: Romans 1:27, "And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet."

Many of today's mainstream "churches" are beginning to allow "same sex marriage" or gay pastors. They are no longer Bible-centered churches but have chosen to appear popular with the world so that membership will remain high and the church CEOs can continue driving Caddies.

There's a special place set aside for said "church" leaders:

Revelation 20:10, "And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever."

Oh ... and Jesus IS alive today. :)

Actually, it's important to apply the teachings of Christ today regardless of political affiliation.

There is no record of Jesus having said any of that. Why are you attributing those words to the man. Are you one of those "Convenience Christians"? Why yes......yes you are.

Jesus lived and then he died. Just like everyone else.

Elton John speaking of Jesus: "He was all about love and compassion and forgiveness and trying to bring people together and that is what the church should be about."
Elton John: Jesus would have backed gay marriage - Telegraph

Let's see how loving Christ will be upon His return to this mixed up, sinful world:

Matthew 13:41-42, "The Son of man shall send forth his angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all things that offend, and them which do iniquity; And shall cast them into a furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth."

and also without would be dogs (sodomites)

Well, now you've gone too far!!

How dare you compare the Bible to the wisdom of Elton John!?!?

Jesus is the Creator and is eternal.

Hebrews 1:2-3, "Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds; Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high;"

1 Corinthians 8:6, "But to us there is but one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we in him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we by him."

Ephesians 3:9-11, "And to make all men see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in God, who created all things by Jesus Christ: To the intent that now unto the principalities and powers in heavenly places might be known by the church the manifold wisdom of God,
According to the eternal purpose which he purposed in Christ Jesus our Lord:"

A little anecdote concerning Elton John.

When I was a kid....I think maybe 10 or 11...I was starting to become interested in music. I discovered The Who and through them, Elton John for Pinball Wizard.

I went to the BX and bought the Captain Fantastic album. I was listening to it for the first time when my father came home. He took one look at the album cover....and then grabbed the record off the turntable and threw it into the wall...smashing it. There would be no ****** music in our house!

Growing up in America.

Actually Jesus said that men should castrate themselves (or worse) if they find women attractive. So Elton is kinda right that Jesus liked limp-wristed eunuchs.

Nothing to say about the fact that Jesus never spoke of homosexuality? Why not?

It's ironic that so many conservatives who on the one hand complain about too much government in their lives will turn around and claim that we need to let the laws of the Bible rule almost every facet of our day to day lives.

The N.T. says that Jesus was a Rabbi and taught the Torah and it's Laws, and said they were perfect.

Torah Law says that sodomites are to be stoned to death and they are going to Hell.

So obviously Jesus was against sodomy and sodomites. .
