So that's a million and a half of them.

That truck that barely ever hit the off road. Just looks nice with that punisher sticker and try p flag flying behind it.Would it be ok if they spent $50,000 & up on an F-150, genius?
How's that cell phone & laptop workin' out for ya, Ace?Ask the slaves toiling in lithium mines in China about how cost effective they are.
A few posts back you can see where Tesla sales surged and electric vehicles sold better than gas engines. Even though we did have a chip shortage this year I guess. How do you define a "surge"? If they sold 500 cars the year before and the number is up to 800 it's a tiny portion of the industry but it could be called a "surge" if you were interested in promoting the product.
Now this shocked me.
Volkswagen sold almost a million electric cars plug included.
Volkswagen Group Nearly Doubled Global BEV Sales In 2021
The company sold more than 450,000 all-electric vehicles and over 300,000 plug-in hybrids.

The Volkswagen Group (which includes Volkswagen, Audi, Porsche, Skoda, SEAT and more) reports a high growth for its plug-in car sales in 2021, despite the challenging Q4.
More whataboutism. How's that cell phone & laptop workin' out for ya, Ace?
Not to mention that none of the sparky car Kool-Aid club bother to mention the toxic waste mitigation headaches that millions of spent batteries will cause. Many countries currently offer subsidies to EV buyers, with subsidies accounting for 49% of the purchase price in Denmark, 30% in South Korea, 23% in China, and 18% in the United States. Germany has EV subsidies of up to 9,000 Euros ($14,200). German carmakers are also offering generous diesel vehicle buyback schemes, ranging from 6,000 ($9,400) to 10,000 euros ($15,700).
Here in the US, it's $7500, and Biden wants to up it to $12,500 for EVs made in the US. But I believe that subsidy is going to expire this year for Toyota and Ford, and already expired for Tesla. China is going to end their subsidies for EVs by the end of this year. Even so, in view of the slowing economic growht and inflationary woes, it's hard to see the EV market gaining much ground this year, UNLESS the democrats are successful in passing legislation to extend the subsidies in the US.
You're a funny guy claiming to give a shit about Chinese slaves working in lithium mines.More whataboutism.
The point is slave labor....Not all lithium comes from China, but all slave labor produced lithium comes from China.
Moreover, Chilean and Australian lithium is more costly, as they employ more environmentally sensitive extraction and refining practices than the ChiComs.
Guess which lithium will be the choice of mass producers of car batteries, Sport?
Whatever, punk. You're a funny guy claiming to give a shit about Chinese slaves working in lithium mines.
Yea, right.
I'm sure you know all the bad things about electricity and batteries. Hell people walk around with batteries all day long. Not to mention that none of the sparky car Kool-Aid club bother to mention the toxic waste mitigation headaches that millions of spent batteries will cause.
You keep citing GLOBAL figures. I cannot buy an EV that will carry enough and make the trip to where my daughter and son live, and there are no charging stations within 5 miles of either one's home. Now this shocked me.

They don't usually carry lithium ion batteries that only a few weigh as much as they personally do!I'm sure you know all the bad things about electricity and batteries. Hell people walk around with batteries all day long.
Cell phones and laptops do not have lithium ion batteries. If they did, you could not mail them or carry them on an airline. How's that cell phone & laptop workin' out for ya, Ace?

Phones and laptops don't come anywhere near the toxic waste mitigation protocols you're going to need to deal with the spent batteries from the millions of cars that the sparky Kool-Aid club wants.I'm sure you know all the bad things about electricity and batteries. Don't cloud the issue with the facts of scale.Electric cars use about ten thousand times more rare earth elements and lithium than cellphones or computers do.
Amazing how throwing scores of billions in subsidies at something makes their sales "surge", innit?

Get real.
Whatbaoutism isn't an argument. You mean like the hundreds of billions in subsidies to the oil companies?
And all of the major auto makers have long waiting lists for them.
Sucks to be you.
