Stating this before even one vote has been counted, based purely on polls which have been ridiculously inaccurate for years is why Americans increasingly don't trust their elections with the same confidence.

Why and how could someone make such a comment when not even one vote has been counted? Even the "calm and confident" comment is weird. What process? You haven't even counted one vote to know. Why even raise such an issue?

What until the election begins and numbers are known. There is a chance one candidate could be well ahead for all she knows.

Vice President Kamala Harris's campaign said it could take several days to determine the final result of the presidential election.

Harris campaign chair Jen O’Malley Dillon told reporters that the race is still “incredibly close.”

“So, we may not know the results of this election for several days, but we are very focused on staying calm and confident throughout this period as the process goes through," she said. "And we really know that we as a campaign have a really important role to play in keeping people calm and communicating and being transparent about our process.”

She said the campaign expects “near complete” results from Georgia, North Carolina and Michigan and “partial results” from Pennsylvania, Wisconsin and Arizona by Tuesday night, The Hill reported.

More results from Wisconsin and additional results from Pennsylvania and Michigan should be available by Wednesday, she added. After Wednesday, the campaign expects “additional results” from Pennsylvania, Arizona and Nevada.

O’Malley Dillon noted that ballots will be counted for several days.

American elections are just fine. The far right has imagined things about voting that have not happened and you are stupid enough to go along with the lie. Harris made these comments because in 2020 Trump called himself the winner before the votes were counted, and has not shut up ever since. So this was said to make everyone aware of the reality that the election my not be called by tomorrow night.

It's irresponsible to state this. What if there is a landslide?

Why does it take days? Many states can have their results that night..why are some of these states going to take days to figure it out?

NBC is running an ad now for their election day coverage. They are saying:

"We will tell you everything you need to hear, when you need to hear it."

How about "tell me everything you know, when you know it." I think I would prefer that from the "news"...

They won't know how many more votes they will need until the first batch is all counted.

That takes some time.

Why does it not surprise me she said that?
