Elderly Woman Hitchhiking?

There was a time when hitchhiking was common. Now, not so much.

I have given a few hitchhikers rides in the past. One time I saw a dude that had a dog with him, and I thought he couldn't be that bad since he has a dog. That was over 30 years ago when I routinely traveled a couple of hundred miles up and down the interstate each weekend.
Used to hitch hike a lot in the 80s when all those *** serial killer were around in S California. Guess I was lucky. I was good looking then.

I once picked up a hitchhiker — he had on a pair of blue jeans and a leather Jacket, and the weather was cold. He told me he'd gotten a ride from a guy in a truck who asked him to put his backpack — which included his sleeping bag and clothes — in the back. When he got out, the guy sped off and stole his gear. What a total piece of human refuse. People like that — there should be a special place in hell for them. Anyway, I gave the hitchhiker some thermal underwear and arctic socks, then took him to a local truck stop. That was about all I could do for him. Hope he made it home. And I hope the guy in the truck ended up with four flat tires — he deserved it. But you know, in the real world, that kind of justice rarely happens
