So they signed a document as alternate electors....What's the crime?

They knew it to be false. They admitted it in return for immunity. They are going to fry Trump, saying he encouraged them to break the law.

Donald Trump is being accused of trying to strong-arm the Georgia SoS into sending up Trump's handpicked electors, instead of Joe Bidet's electors ... that didn't happen, which is why the Georgia SoS isn't up on changes ... he indeed sent Bidet's people ...

Faithless electors is something different ... and not all states have laws against this ... according to Wikipedia, Georgia has no laws concerning this, and SCOTUS ruled years ago Feds have no say ...

This isn't about the party selecting a slate of electors if their candidate one.

The Georgia Secretary of State submitted to Congress the authorized slate of electors based on Biden winning Georigia.

These electors submitted false documents to Congress and the National Archives professing to be the State electors, and they were not and that Georgia's 16 EC votes when to Donald Trump, when they didn't.

Dunno..however..they took an immunity deal--one which the DA would never have offered, if he didn't think it would advance his case against Trump. A deal that it's hard to believe that the 8 would have agreed to..if they felt they had done nothing wrong?

So if the 8 did do something wrong, they get a free pass while the persecution of Trump continues.
