/---/ I'm 73 and too old. By the time I earned my master's degree in education and got my license to teach, I'd be 80.
I was, however, married to an elementary school teacher for 46 years. Three others in my immediate family were teachers. I'm well aware of what they go through.
What makes you think a teacher can buck the DOE and local school boards on what they prioritize? My cousin wanted to hold a student back a year because he rarely attended class; when he did, he was disruptive, failed the few tests he took, and never completed reading assignments. The Principla overruled my cousin and socially promoted the kid. That tells me you are not only snarky but clueless as well.
