It's accurate relative to the time period. I wanted to keep the time relative to generally recorded history. But yeah the end of the ice age looked like this around 12,000 years ago.Charts like that are inaccurate to say the least.
During the past million years, Greenland froze (got much colder) while North America thawed (got much warmer)
The planet does not cool and warm as a whole. Continents do depending on whether they are moving towards or away from the closet pole...
