Well, we know one thing for sure and that is that the question of America's energy dependency on others is a very sensitive issue.

If it's true then it can be speculated that that is one of the reasons why America started a war against Russia.
And Trump revealing that about dependency is certainly in sync with the Duck King's statements on America being to blame for the war!

And also fwiw, both Saudi and other ME countries are being romanced by Russia and China, as if they have a choice on their alliances.

Coal production had been declining before Trump. It's still down from historic levels but has stabilized as global demand has increased. That said Trump's presidency was an economic disaster for the U.S.

Presidents don't control the economy, the economy controls presidents.

Reckless Oil well drilling is not a really good option. It destroys aquifers usually needed for fresh water.

Spudding a well is necessary before the oil comes out. And not all oil wells can be spudded. Some only produce a half barrel a week.

Even if ALL new vehicles were required to be all electric, peak oil usage will still be 50 years out from today....because VEHICLES ARE NOT THE ONLY usage of petroleum products. Cargo ships, boats, trucks, trains and etc still use the most petroleum of all. And this doesn't even cover plastics, clothing, fertilizers and pesticides.

There are other materials we could use....but CHEAP OIL is the problem.....oil is not as cheap to pump, produce, and utilize anymore. Red solo cups are cheap....fiber cups are not. If you are looking for a cheaper cup which do you use?

It's not an energy crisis....it's not running out....it's the price that is getting annoying.
