Concerned America is one of their very weakest links.

Patriot is just behind, and Foxfyre behind both.

Rich democrats will pay the tariff national sales tax just like everyone else.

When is this going to occur? Is this like inflation being transitory back in Biden’s term? Did you believe that as well?

Let me help you out a bit. The cost of tariffs will be spread among manufacturers, suppliers and consumers. Nobody said it was going to be spread evenly, in fact, PPI and CPI numbers to date indicate that the supply side is eating much of the cost. As I have mentioned previously, they will not all pass this along to the consumer because they don’t want to lose customers or market share. It is more likely for essential goods(pharmacy) for example, but not for most of the goods and services we purchase. If US importers lose customers by raising prices too much, they will push back on foreign manufacturers by either demanding lower prices or not buying as much product, forcing foreign manufacturers to eat more or all of the tariff so they can sell more product. These taxes that lefties are all up in arms about are at least in part, maybe even large part, being paid by foreign manufacturers. That is a win for the US, not matter how you slice it.

sweet tea does not believe the tariff functions as a national sales tax on consumers in America.

She is wrong again.

Right, because they aren’t and they aren’t showing up in CPI numbers either. You and your ilk seem to have the mindset that market forces cease to exist for tariffs and thus tariff increases are all passed on to the consumer. You would be incorrect and will be proven to be so in the near future.

I’ll ask again. If tariffs hurt a country’s consumer and didn’t benefit the country imposing them in some way, why would countries threaten to retaliate with tariffs of their own when threatened with higher tariffs? Use some common sense, if at all possible.

As of yesterday, my 401k is up 6.75% YTD,
The DJIA is up 7.14% as of today.
Nice rout.

My YTD gain in my 401k is 10.6% as of today.

I'm laughing at all the lefties who pulled their money out of the markets back in 2016 because Paul Krugman told them Trump was going to cause a "worldwide recession". :auiqs.jpg:

let me see if I understand the dem/lib thinking on this. you fools are saying that American producers will raise their prices when foreign prices rise due to tariffs? is that it? So American producers actually want their foreign competition to succeed and will sacrifice sales to make sure they do?

15th post
there are no tariffs on domestic products. why is that so hard for you libs to understand?
Deflection, a worthless deflection.

Tariffs of products sold in America add what is in effict a national sales tax paid by the consumer.

Redfish likes taxes.

American producers will add the tariff costs to their products, yes, as if it were a regressive sales tax on all.

Good on you.
