Actually at least in MD non payment of rent over repair requests will not prevent evictionNot paying your rent is frequently the only way to force the landlord to make repairs, if the building is unsafe. It is the ONLY legal means a tenant has.
The whole fucking world is moving here. Including a lot of people that are running from their past. A lot.Is this a major problem in Florida?
if it is your house, or a house you think you are occupying legally, it sure is.Is this a major problem in Florida?
You don't get red state mentality. So up until July of this year, squatters could take over a house in Florida, and you blame Dems? Has Florida been in Dem control until just now?
Changes to Florida’s Squatters’ Rights Laws: What You Need to …
Apr 5, 2024 · As of July 1st, 2024, squatters in Florida will be treated as criminal trespassers, not tenants, and face legal consequences.
Elections really do matter, people. There really is a difference between living in a Free State like Florida and a Dystopian Hell like Kaliphony...
Squatters Overrun Mansion Next to LeBron James' Home
You worked hard your whole life. You saved for a down payment and bought your dream home. The neighborhood is great, and you never have to worry about crime. The only thing your local police department has to do is hand out the occasional parking ticket.
You did everything right — and you thought you were safe from the scourge of squatters who can only take over in “bad neighborhoods.”
You were wrong.

Finally, the squatters were removed — only after months of a media frenzy. Squatters can victimize anyone, even in Beverly Hills. But the average person victimized by squatters isn’t wealthy and connected. They can’t point to LeBron’s house next door to bring in the media spotlight. They don’t have thousands to pour into eviction litigation or to pay off squatters to leave. They don’t have a second home to escape to. They are just trying to pay the bills.
And in a matter of seconds, their American Dream can be ripped away by criminals.
Me:
Go ahead, put dems in Office, then when you finally do grow upsettle down and want to raise a family, see what happens. If they don't cut your daughter's boobs off or castrate your son, they'll allow squatters to take over your house when you go on vacation for a week.
Except here, in Florida. We don't put up with that here. Try it here and see what happens.
Making America a better pace, one bullet at a time
No, dope. How is it that you are so consistently wrong about -- Everything.
"Squatting" became an epidemic just recently in dimocrap scum-run States. It happened here but not nearly as much and mostly in the few dimocrap scum areas -- Lauderdale, Tampa, St Petrograd, Orlando, etc.
And enforcement was sporadic. Yes, Virginia, there are dimocrap scum even here, in Florida. So RDS decided to put an end to it State-Wide. Permanently.
Is that too complicated for you??
At least dimocrap scum are paying lip service to the problem. But will they enforce their new 'laws' with the same enthusiasm they ignore so many other laws that have been on the books since time immemorial?Complicated? It's actually your simplistic 'it's all the fault of Democrats!' take that I have an issue with. For example, were you aware the bill was voted in unanimously in both the FL senate and house? That includes the 'dimocrap scum' you seem to feel are solely responsible for the state of squatters rights.

Are you aware that New York, generally considered a 'blue' state, also changed their law to try to help with removing squatters?

New York Governor signs new squatter law after 7 On Your Side Investigation
Governor Kathy Hochul signed a portion of the New York State budget Monday morning that will change the way tenants are defined in state law.abc7ny.com
What about Philadelphia? Isn't that a big city, bastion of dimocrap scum? Look what they did 6 years ago:

Controversial anti-squatting bill becomes law in Philadelphia
Housing advocates fear the law will do far more harm than good — to homeowners and legal tenants.whyy.org
DeSantis decided to put an end to it? He signed the law, but it was the legislature that submitted it (since that's how our system works), and guess what? There were Dems as co-sponsors!
So no, not too complicated for me...I'm not so sure about you.![]()
There are absolute nightmare cases where the police, instead of arresting the trespassers, arrest the owner when in their own home.

New York homeowner arrested after changing locks when finding 'squatters'

Completely mind-bending bullshit.

I suspect so. Just ask the illegals living in Florida that commit all their criminal acts in New Yawk. They will tell you (and have) that "we don't mess around in Florida. They'll put you away. So we go to New York where nobody bothers us."
Below is one of many, many articles on the topic. But since dims get their 'news' from the DISGUSTING FILTH, I doubt you've ever heard of it,
And a lot of other things

CNN Hosts Stunned By Migrant Crime Story, Releases In NY
The New York governor said, “Get them all and send them back. You don't touch our police officers. You don't talk to anybody.”www.mediaite.com
One of them that they are still seeking has ten charges on one day because he’s part of a pattern that’s been going on, and I’m looking at the dates that their arrest started, which is probably close to when they got here. They’ve only been here a couple of months. So what the detectives are telling me is they have crews here that operate in New York do all their stealing, then go to Florida to spend the money and then come back. And I’m like, well, why don’t they just stay and steal in Florida? And they said, ‘Because there you go to jail.’
Read the article. Go for it. Read the whole thing then come back with some more snarky-assed College Girl comments.
bitch
It's how magaturds steer the conversation.Your response to me pointing out that Dems were involved in the Florida bill you touted, and that there are Dem-led areas that have also changed the law to try to deal with squatters, is to post an article about an anecdotal story revolving around migrant criminals in NYC, which has nothing to do with squatting? How could anyone argue with that?![]()
