I don't think we get many ordinary republicans here, with very few exceptions all of those who support Trump are extremists, they represent only a fraction of the republican voters who elected trump.

Personally I share views with some republicans and I share view with some democrats, I know republicans who are reasonable and sensible but the cult like maga devotees are not republicans they are to all intents and purpose right wing extremists with beliefs that overlap with many aspects of fascist politics and their ideology has slowly taken over a careless republican party who probably never really expected trump to do the damage he has now started to do.

So I'd probably not bother looking for serious rational discourse with republicans here, not in this forum, it is far too polarized I think, any criticism of trump or musk is invariably met with ridicule or vitriol and intolerance, they are closed minded, right wing and radical and thankfully just a minority except in this forum for some reason.
