That isn't exactly true. The Constitution doesn't specify that the Speaker needs to be elected and/or from the House; however, throughout our history, the Speaker has always been a member of the House. It's a pipe-dream and nothing more.

It does: Article I, Section 2 of the Constitution.

The Speaker doesn't have to be a member of congress. Probably always will be, but doesn't have to be.

The Constitution does not require that the Speaker be an electedHouse Representative, though every Speaker so far has been an elected Member of the House. The Speaker is second in the United States presidential line of succession, after the Vice President and ahead of the President pro tempore of the U.S. Senate.

but congress does have to nominate and vote on who is speaker

so, although I was wrong, I did learn something I did not know....

and your idea is still far fetched imo, because there is no way he would be elected by the Republican congress to rule over them, since he doesn't even know the rules to govern...and since most of them, deep down, don't like him.

Now, let's make it happen. I think Trump would do it. He likes the idea of this movement he created. I'm ready to jettison the GOP for them not supporting Mr Trump from the moment he won the primary.

No problem. I recall discussion when John Boehner stepped down and idea of Newt Gingrich(?) was tossed about.

As for Speaker, it's a far out notion and I don't think Trump is the man for the job mainly because I don't see why he would want it. Now here is what I do see as a more realistic picture. If the political bug bites one of the Trump kids, the Donald would finance them on a more traditional political course. Sort of like Joseph P. Kennedy.

You are right they don't like him, but they will respond to public pressure if they want reelected. I think Trump would shut down the government if HilLIARy doesn't agree to some of the demands of the Republican Congress or tries to push her socialist agenda. That's the GOP we wantedne with balls standing up for us. The GOP will keep the Congress thanks to Donald Trump saving their assess. We were ready to throw them all out.

The thing is, the House members and Senate members is WHO we all should concentrate on in elections...no matter who the president is, nothing can get done without the House and Senate passing the legislation or appropriation... sadly, whomever wins, the President won't be a miracle worker if Congress turns out to be another, Do Nothing Congress!!

Mr. Trump will win the Presidency, but in the unlikely scenario the Country goes insane and elects Hillary, what if Mr. Trump takes on the role of Speaker of the House? He has the balls to stop the Democrats should they take the Senate and Presidency, unlike the shiftless Republicans led by Paul Ryan during the Obama Regime. I think Mr. Trump would do it. He likes campaigning and starting an unprecedented movement that inspired millions of dissatisfied people to follow him. I think he would like to lead us in taking over the Republican Party once and for all.
