As a Catholic, I am thrilled to see the Washington legislation to remove the sanctity of the Sacrament of Confession being seriously challenged.

The government hides their agenda behind their whine, "It's for the children!", as usual.

Let the government do their own dirty work. To force a priest to break the Seal of the Confessional is tantamount to ending his life as a priest, as doing so means instant excommunication.

NOTHINGBURGER.
Confessions are secret. Who is going to file charges, unless the state bugs confessionals?
Untrue, a criminal facing prosecution could claim, under such a law, they told a priest, in a pathetic attempt to mitigate their personal responsibility and cast it upon the Church. That is how bleeding heart liberals do things, they attempt to expand the very notion of responsibility away from the individual and place on various aspects of society.

"Claims" need to be proven in court. Its still a nothingburger.
If a pedo is facing prosecution they have real evidence on him.
Besides, confessionals are blind, the criminal has no idea who the priest was.
