False Obama set a standard that would have anyone with PTSD or a low level of any disorder to be denied a firearm. Thats a very low standard. In order to stop the mentally ill we have to identify specific diagnosis and we can. Schizophrenia, Anti social personality, PTSD only when violence is involved. Thats described 100% of school shooters. The 7 trans shooters would have fallen into anti social personality.

All I need is credible threat, and agreement by another psychologist and the person will be committed for 7 days. After that a judge is involved and based on the assessment will rule discharge or another length of stay

After that a judge is involved and based on the assessment will rule discharge or another length of stay

Except The Law requires an adjudication.

The only way to do it is put a waiver on the 4473 to allow medical records be included. Then only a specific diagnosis is rejected. If we look at all the school shooters they have either psychosis, PTSD with violence, and Antisocial personality. The 7 trans shooters will fall into ASPDO

What about the millions of people without a mental illness, that simply might be going to a theorpist because their husband died? Never committed a crime..but are on the national crime information center list and can’t exercise their rights…

Trouble is 2/3rds of the "mental health professionals" are as whacky as the people they "treat".

Indeed, the elevated collective awareness of the lack of mental health in people these days and the attendant wariness when you look at the "professionals" treating them gives one pause.
