Dog Lovers Thread

It would have been easier to just take him home.

What does the dog do when a bigger dog or rabid raccoon comes along or someone sees a free dog house and takes it for their own pet?

And just look how that dog stepped aside while the guy built the thing, had that been a cat, the cat would been right in there checking his plans, making suggestions, and being sure he was using the correct units of measure, inches not metric.

Maybe he did take him home after.... house and all! ;)

And yes, you are right the cats have a different modus operandi.

Hell, my cats would have been checking his plumb bob for level.

Also, cats would insist on a level roof so they could lay up there, hide, and watch for other cats.

But interesting isn't it, how they know that whatever you are doing, they know you are doing it for them.

The dog thanks you profusely with licks.

The cat simply directs you to whatever they want by mind link then ask what took you so long.

Dogs and cats may not always get along, have different ways and goals, but they go hand in hand together like a fine comedy team, like the Skipper and Gilligan, or Laurel and Hardy. The dog usually plays Oliver Hardy, the easy going straight-man victim of the cat, and the cat usually plays Stan Laurel, the not-so-always innocent mischievous prankster or cause of most troubles.

Pups loading up the Fetchmaster 3000...

"Who has the ball?!"

"I got it! Over here! Me first, me first!"

"Quick, drop it in... maybe if I poke it with my nose it'll launch sooner!"

"Look! It worked!"

Nah.....don't be like that! :10:

Hey, dogs are trainable, they are not stupid. If a pet is going to live in my house, he lives by my rules and respects my property, it is the very least I can ask for all that I'm giving. Just don't wreck my place, save it for outdoors.

May be they got the dog the day before and he didn't know.... he was just playing; it was only an accident! ;)

Well, that is a possibility. Does anything in the video suggest that, skye? More importantly, does any of that alter my original premise?

Consider the many things dogs are trained for, in law enforcement, hunting, and in those phenomenal exhibitions of dog mastery in a top dog show!

It is a disservice to a canine not to train him not only to reach his highest levels of challenge but to enjoy and integrate within his family home life to be very best degree as part of the home, and you can't have that if the dog is constantly tearing the place up destructively, that energy needs directed towards a constructive end.

Besides, this is what dogs are bred for; the greater the training, the closer the interaction and communication, the greater the bond between human and dog.
