No it's not that simple. How much do they lie? What are they lying about? Lying about being under sniper fire in Kosovo? Republicans acted like that was a lie that proved she's a liar and disqualified her from being president. Because she lied.

There are some lies you can tell to prevent giving the opposition political ammunition to use against you...and there are lies you can tell to take advantage of the population and use them as a subservient consumer herd. Bill Clinton's lies "I didn't inhale" or "I did not have sexual relations with that woman" are of the former type. George Bush Sr's 1990 speech outlining the New World Order as being a benefic agenda for all mankind is the latter. Obama's claim that your health insurance premium won't increase and you can stay with your doctor" was also the latter.
