Do you guys think that the losing party in a presidential election have an obligation to support the newly elected President’s policy agenda? Also explain why.
 
Not if the losing party is Democrats. It's Dems job to oppose the evil Republicans at every turn when in power or out of power.... Then blame nothing getting done on Republicans, even when the Dems hold the Senate, House and White House.... Always blame Republicans for everything bad!

No, but...

A senator or representative is elected by his or her specific geographic constituents and has an obligation to represent them, not the nation as a whole. It would certainly be nice if these people would work together on a more honest, mature, civil level, but their top priority is fundraising, selling influence, re-election, fundraising and fundraising.

That's the way the system currently operates, and since the electorate clearly isn't interested in changing the system, here we are.
