The only further left the so-called Democrat Party can go, is if they merge with the existing Communist Party USA. Both that party as well as the Democratic Socialist Party are hardcore Marxist.
The problem with Communist/Marxist political parties and their governing:
1. Once they've fed the easily manipulated public to vote for them via false promises and they've taken over a nation, Democracy.....ends.
2. Political opposition is "not" allowed. It ends individual freedoms and replaces them with authoritarian "collective" mandates that everyone MUST obey, or suffer arrest and re-education and if that is unsuccessful, there is a gulag/prison for you where they work you to death, or if they don't have the patience for that, they simply take you out to a field, end your life and dump you in a mass grave. The old Soviet Union did that, China did that and North Korea did that.
3. They claim they will end the classed society of the rich, middle-class and poor. In that they are somewhat correct. They end the middle-class and most of the rich. What you end up with is a nation of mostly poor subjects, with some elements within the inner-politburo having more privileges than the rest of the nation.
4. Communist rule is actually quite simple: Do as we say, or else. It's authoritarian, persecutory, tyrannical and outright murderous to its own people.
