Zone1 Does God create Calamity

You make things up because even you dont believe it. LOL
Incorrect. I make arguments that bible scholars make. I don't make arguments that backwood rubes who have an ax to grind make.

Right. You don't believe it so you make arguments like you believe it and then require everyone else to believe arguments that you don't believe. It's idiotic.
Because its in the bible. Im sorry you hate reality, militant anti-semite :itsok:

So you copy other people that make things up, lolz.
You cant even be original and make up your own stuff

Maybe read what bible scholars say about it rather than relying on propaganda from militant atheist websites.

Yes, I rely on bible experts. None of which are making the arguments you make.

Anyone who would scoff at accepting knowledge on authority would have to go through life knowing very little.

I go by the book. I dont listen to other people make things up. I can read, dinggered.

You should read what bible scholars say to challenge your interpretations. That's what critical thinking is.

Why would i listen to people lie, rather than read the book itself?
So you believe bible scholars are all conspiring to trick you into reading the bible in an intelligent fashion? As opposed to the way you are reading it which you know is false?

Sounds to me that you just want to do some gas lighting and you don't want the truth to interfere with that.

Not all of them. As this biblical scholar points out. They are just "liberals" that lie a lot.
I think its funny how you think making things up is the intelligent thing to do in this instance. Really says a lot about you.

Great. Feel free to link to a bible scholar making your ridiculous arguments. Until then, I'll keep calling it what it is. Idiotic.

He's talking about the miracles performed by Jesus not the accounts of Genesis. I agree the miracles performed by Jesus and his resurrection from the dead are historical events.

Do you want to try to gas light me on the divinity of Christ? Come at me, bro.

Did you even read it? Holy crap!

Yes, I read the part where he is talking about Jesus. That was all there was. Show the part where he walks through an OT passage.

Like I said... I believe the accounts about Jesus are historical accounts. Here I am. Come get me. Try to gas light me on the miracles performed by Christ.

But when it comes to ancient accounts from the OT, they are not the same thing. And you still haven't shown a bible scholar arguing that God really did command Jews to commit genocide or flood the entire world except 8 people and boatload of animals.

Here you go...

Virtually zero percent of mainstream biblical scholars and scientists believe that a global flood covering the entire planet as described in Genesis was a literal, historical event. The consensus among academic scholars is that the narrative is a Hebrew myth with theological significance, likely derived from older Mesopotamian flood myths like the Epic of Gilgamesh.

Mainstream Scholarly View
  • Mythological Narrative: The Genesis flood narrative is considered a myth in the academic sense—a story used to convey profound theological truths about God's judgment and grace, rather than a factual historical account.
  • No Scientific Evidence: A global flood is inconsistent with the physical findings of geology, archaeology, paleontology, and the global distribution of species. There is not enough water in the Earth's atmosphere and oceans to cover all landmasses and the highest mountains, like Mount Everest, which has marine limestone at its peak formed by the slow accumulation of marine life, not a sudden flood.
  • Alternative Interpretations: Many Christian scholars who accept scientific evidence interpret the flood narrative as describing a large, local flood in the ancient Near East that impacted the known world of the time's human population. Others view the story as an allegory.

Creationist View
A small number of scholars, primarily associated with young Earth creationist organizations (such as Answers in Genesis), do hold a literal interpretation, arguing that the biblical text, when read plainly, describes a global catastrophe. They maintain that the geological evidence supports their view and that the Flood's reality is tied to the authority of Scripture. This view, known as "flood geology," is considered a pseudoscience by the mainstream scientific community.

I know which testament Jesus is in. I was contrasting the accounts of Jesus which are historical to the ancient OT accounts in Genesis which are narratives of historical events which were crafted or embellished for specific reasons (which is what biblical scholars believe). I clicked your link. All it discussed was Jesus.

Why don't you show me a bible scholar who reads the flood account literally? Is it because you can't? I guess according to you, bible scholars just make stuff up too, right?

I'm not boring you. I'm beating your ass into a bloody pulp. It's poetic that you come into this forum to gas light Christians only to have your sorry ass be gas lighted by a Christian.

Welcome to your new reality.
