No doubt evangelicals have become a major force in politics. Their rise to power was fueled by groups like the Moral Majority and their insistence that character matters. Jimmy Carter was said to be unfit for the presidency because one of his interviews was published in Playboy magazine. Clinton's affair with an intern was seen as a personal affront to all that is good. With Trump, character doesn't seem to matter. Evangelicals are even proud of his lapses in honesty claiming that God is using a flawed man to do his will. Does character still matter, or does it just not matter for trump?

Democrats have nothing to offer voters but critiques of Trump, that's why they are stuck at 19% approval.

But to answer the OP question, policies and competence in a president matter more than character.

Please recall that democrats typically have no character/morals at all, an easy choice.

We'll accept no lectures about character from you.

Judge not, lest ye be judged.

Evangelicals? You beat them for decades that religious views and morals had no place in government, politics, or the public social sector. Nothing wrong with gays marrying, nothing wrong with porn everywhere, nothing wrong with nudity, nothing wrong with wanting to be a different sex, nothing wrong with drugs, nothing wrong with sex whenever and wherever you want, and nothing wrong with pushing all of that on America's youth through our education system. So now you're bitching because they finally come around to your way of thinking? :auiqs.jpg:

Not to mention that you have the avatar you do and you're bitching about people not following their morals. **** you. 🤡

Thanks for acknowledging morals just aren't as important any more.

The GOP hasn't just lost the moral high ground. They threw it down and stomped it.

You bitched about their 'moral high ground' and worked for decades to say it didn't matter and to destroy it. You got what you wanted, and now you're going to ***** like a little girl about that too? Just another 'talking point' in your litany of lies and talking points, no one gives a shit what you think about their 'morals'.

For everyone else dems scream "vote for your (supposed) interests!

For evangelicals, it's "vote for us even though we despise you!"
