back in the day quiet quitting would equal a loud firing.
Those days are over. Thankfully. No more taking advantage of workers. Work ethic is tied to pay. More pay more wage. Less work less wage. As it should be.
 
Workers are getting smarter? Want us to work harder then pay up. Otherwise please do not even bother hiring.

Nope, haven't had to go to survival mode for quite some time now. The 2008 crash screwed me up so bad I had to ride the sofa circuit for a while and work for some pretty dismal wages. I saw no inherent dignity in my thankfully temporary poverty.
 
I'm glad I forced my kids to get a college education. There was no other viable option upon graduating high school. Not one other option
 
Finding good workers has never been easier. An employers glut of choices.

The song is about living in soul-crushing poverty but mother does not see the supposed dignity of it.
 
How about sitting on your ass and letting the government support you?
I'm not going to work hard for $15 per hour. Truth be told. That'd be against the ideals of capitalism.
