I wanted desperately to play hockey, but the parents didn't have the money to buy all the equipment along with the expensive fees for ice time.

Played baseball for a couple years then softball for youth city teams only to both times be on the worst team of the city. It was still fun and something to do in summer though.

really depends on the parents. some kids with single parent families, or dysfunctional families never were encouraged to go out for sports... there are plenty who didnt.

Conventional. My coach was a professional boxer and Olympian. The cost is $180 a month for the trading and access to the gym

I didn't play any sports. Some complete ignoramus imagined that I would develop a team spirit if pressed into team sports. I spent every game sabotaging and making sure my team lost.

Those girls were reduced to sobbing just hearing my name on the team.

What choices did you make besides sports.
I played sports 100% of my time. (Exception was limited time between Seasons)
But even then I think I shot a ball, threw a ball, caught a ball, or hit a ball.
