Fortified?
Indeed, it was.
By Don Trump's incompetency and untrustworthiness.

That's not just my opinion ---tho I do believe it -----but it is the research that his own pollster, Tony Fabrizio, conducted. And, importantly, informed Trump and his enablers. They knew during their 'Stop-the-Steal' campaign why they had lost and it wasn't due to fraud. Yet they persisted.

From Politico back on February 1st:

"Trump pollster's campaign autopsy paints damning picture of defeat
The 27-page report pins Trump's loss on voter perception that he was untrustworthy and disapproval of his pandemic performance."
I was referring to the collusion mentioned in this article: The Secret History of the Shadow Campaign That Saved the 2020 Election

Of course, the columnist calls it "fortifying" rather than corruption. That's the preferred Newspeak of the era.
