It is more than the actual deaths and misery that drugs bring, and the crime that comes with it. It is the increasing dependence on chemicals to perform day to day functions, including opiates, alcohol, weed, caffeine, even fast processed food is affecting us. The search for the perfect bliss is only a human trait, and is easily exploited, and takes a bite of humanity and morality with it. We are getting worse, not better, and we seem to never learn from experience.

My take on it, is that I have seen people go though periods when they are hopeless and thus vunerable to bad ideas such as taking drugs that can permanently ruin their lives.

If such drugs were not readily available, I believe that many who fall into such a trap, could and would get though such periods and be capable of going on to lead possibly good and productive lives.


Thus, I do support efforts to reduce the flow of such drugs.

The SECONDARY effects are also serious, as others have pointed out.


Also, it bears repeating, the people profiting from this, are vile scum of the earth and bringing the hammer down them, is just good for the human race.

I blush to admit that it is not among my key concerns, even though my political guy - President Trump - puts it near the top of his list. I look at fentanyl deaths in much the same way as when I see that a teenager has killt himself in a one-vehicle, high-speed motorcycle accident because he couldn't negotiate a bend in the road at 110mph.

I notice that the Media like to focus on fentanyl victims who are young and pretty or seem to have promising lives ahead of them, but are these truly typical of the "victims"? Are they not essentially all people who are doing what they should not be doing?

The families are often gobsmacked and suffering through no fault of their own, as anyone would be with a sudden death, but the people who were dosed? Not much sympathy here. Sorry.

And the Chinese C.P. intentionally flooding us with fentanyl to punish our society for our sins against them? Bizarre.

Yeah, I care. Fentanyl kills completely innocent non drug users as well. It can be absorbed through the skin.

A friend of mine died of an overdose when he inadvertently came in contact with some while on a job.

Never knew what hit him.

But let’s stop acting like the people taking fentanyl are helpless victims. This didn’t just “happen” to them. They made their choices.

Kids often experiment with drugs and alcohol. In fact, I bet you have as well

But the problem with the Fentanyl that is out now is, you don't get a second chance. One hit and you die. China and the drug cartels don't want your return business, they just want your life.

So, chances are if you were a kid growing up today "experimenting" with drugs, you would be dead.

I do have to be honest here, my humanity and sympathies end with the drug lords and Marxist Chinese as zero shits are given. Conversely, I do have sympathy for the addicts, especially the ones who got involved as children.

Hopefully the US military is making a date with them both in the near future.
