Ideally, you are exactly right. The misallocation of resources is the biggest "drain" on our economy. It is not fraud, waste, or abuse. It is misallocation of resources, on an unprecedented scale. But Trump's actions, and his proposals, will only exasperate the problem.

I was talking to someone on another forum. I questioned him the rationale for sending foreign aid to Israel when there were Americans starving and/or living on the streets. And this isn't just about Israel or even foreign aid, it applies to all cases of resource allocation. The way I see it is very simple: if there are starving or homeless people, then money really should go to them first. I can't think of another use of money that is more urgent than these.
