Do you believe that the Internet should be a free speech Platform?

The differences is that limbo reached millions of people but these modern platforms reached hundreds of millions of Americans and billions of people in the world.

Radio has always been home to both liberal and conservative talk. You just have to look at PBS radio for example.

Why should it matter the numbers of people? Either you HAVE TO HAVE ACCESS or you don't.

Doesn't matter the size.

If you are a Nazi, you want to be able to say anything you want. Only way to drive for the hate needed to promote Nazism. And we see that daily in the right wing here. Where they actually think it is better to lie then to tell the truth. Again you can control people with controlling verbiage , hate filled and ugly. If you decide that lying is always better then telling the truth more hate will be created.
I'll support restrictions on free speech when I get to decide what speech should and should not be allowed. Actually, not even then, but my point is clear, I don't trust anyone else to do a good and fair job at it.

You seem to be trusting USMB in that regard.

USMB doesn't have the authority to prevent me from expressing my viewpoint. If they stop me here, I'm free to go to any number of other boards and say what I want. The government, OTOH, has the authority to confine me and prevent me from communicating. That's a problem.

IOW, ture free speech is a government issue, not a private sector issue.

Agreed. Way too many people, on both sides of the culture war, are ready to blur that line in order to control others.

Before 2020 people like David Duke and Andrew Tate, Robert Spencer, and others were allowed to provide their messages. Often they were mocked, laughed at or disagreed with. Everything was fine. The world was a safer place. The economy was better. Fast forward to 2020 and political platforms like YouTube, Instagram and Twitter banned these types of figures under the guise of “hate speech.”
If I own a store, and you want to come in an shit on the floor, I have every right to kick your filthy ass to the curb.

That's what you dumbasses have never figured out. YouTube et al. are internet "stores".

If the Nazis want to shit on the floor, they have the freedom to create their own web sites. And they have. If you miss them so much, I can point you to them if you wish.

You see, idiot, you can say whatever you want on the internet here in America. You can create your own outlet and foam at the mouth all you like, so long as you don't make threats against others or post child porn.

Try shitting on Putin in Russia, and THEN maybe you will understand just how free our speech is.

The scary part is this is how we'll end up losing free speech. They're demanding that government intervene, that government regulate these websites. The want to use the power of the state to force websites to post their shit. Which, of course, is the opposite of free speech.

100% incorrect.
