Do you believe in the possibility of life in other galaxies?

Getting back to the theory about Proxima B planet, many people assume that Proxima B might have the same Environment as Earth. I guess we will have more detailed information when the James Webb Space Telescope will be launched

No it's not like that at all.

And what we have is the probability that out of the 700000000000000000000000 stars in the universe that there are planets that will be similar enough to ours that life similar to ours may have developed that's not counting other forms of life we may not be familiar with.

And the thing is we will never really know because the distances are just too vast. But just because we are the only life we know of is not reason to think the rest of the universe is barren.

Life on other planets is possible, maybe even probable.

But we'll never know. The reality of space is we will never encounter other life.

This isn't Star Wars, "Luke, yo mamma don't know who yo daddy is."

Maybe one-day humans will be able to invent a spacecraft that will be able to travel in space with the speed of light. It will help us in traveling to other galaxies and we will get a chance to find some forms of life. Probably even intelligent.

With over a hundred billion galaxies in the universe. It is hard for me to believe that there is not at least one other solar system with life. Especially, when some scientists claim that they have already found some exoplanets that can be like Earth

Yes, if you ever meet a visitor from anywhere in what humans call the Small Magellanic Cloud Galaxy- RUN away from them as fast as you can.

Most everybody else is okay, or at least tolerable like here.

Better to remain in this galaxy and visit any of the other 14 worlds with reasonably inteligent beings that are only a hop, skip and jump away. Better to be safe than sorry. Stay safe and enjoy the ride.

We don't know how life came into existence. After decades and decades of serious research we cannot reproduce life in the lab. If all we needed were the Goldilocks Zone and liquid water then every Jr High Science class would be producing life as a class room lab experiment.
What you left out is the factor of time. Such as it may take a billion years to go from the crude amino acids we've already produced in a beaker from the primordial atmosphere plus lightning, to a viable single cell orgasm. And another billion to evolve into intelligent life.

The shear size of the universe almost guarantees life elsewhere, but that also means that the dispersion of such life may make it impossible for two intelligent species to encounter each other.

As Carl Sagan was famous for saying, with the time it takes to develop intelligent life, vs the speed of technology, by the time a species can contact another one, they may have gone extinct.
And the idea of "star wars" where two species have similar technology would be like the conquistadors and the Incas.

He had no idea of the inverse relationship younger and smaller galaxies with megastars have compared to one such as the archaic Milky Way. However, he was a smart human, as humans go. A 3rd. grader ( female ) in a suburb of Indianapolis will have her day in the sun very soon. November 26th. 2043.

Faster than that, Neutron III Slingshot Series.

If you're considered humans intelligent, they already have.

As long as the representatives of both species still exist in their modes of transport the species is not extinct. Worlds come and go all the time, its species in their quest for knowledge seldom meet the same fate.

Your initial question was do you believe there is life in other galaxies. Let's put this in perspective, we have only been to the Moon that circles this planet. Man has not yet been to any other planet in this solar system. This solar system is centered around a star we know as Soon or the Sun. The galaxy we are in, the Milky Way Galaxy ( a medium-sized galaxy ) has an estimated 200 to 400 billion stars. I really think we're putting the cart in front of the horse when we start talking about other galaxies. First we have to reach another planet, then we have to explore this solar system. Finally we could begin exploring other solar systems in this galaxy. Once we achieve this, the odds are in our favor to find life elsewhere in this galaxy before we ever think about going to other galaxies. It would be very unusual, almost impossible for life to exist only here. But as long as we're imagining things, imagine what life forms exist in the largest known Galaxy, 1C1101, which dwarfs our Milky Way galaxy by 20 times the size with over 100 trillion stars. It's always nice to dream. Keep on dreaming.

Just based on simple odds there are millions of exotic planets that are in the goldilocks zone.

Based on that I believe there are millions of alien critters out there.

I've known a few strange aliens in my time.

Why is hard to believe that life may only be unique to earth?

The problem we have is that we have been brainwashed by 100 years of Science Fiction so we are all conditioned to think that there must be life elsewhere but the reality is we are the only known life in the universe. We of course don't know everything (not by a long shot) but what we do know now is that we are the only life.

Statistics doesn't produce life. If we only have one data point then it is impossible to make any assumptions about life elsewhere. We need more data points to make any statistical assumption.

If the universe is finite then there will be unique things in it.

There are many complex factors that go into life and for all we know it only happen here. Just because it happen here we tend to think it can be common elsewhere but we really don't know.

This video is worthwhile watching. We could be like the prisoner that by happenstance quickly figures out the lock combination while the other 999999 die.

You mightnt know how we came in to existence but science has provided the only plausible scenario yet.
What I can be absolutely certain of is there was no God had involvement, then or anytime since.
