Do Democrats feel immune from recessions?

A great number of Democrat voters are financially supported by government employment or "entitlements." As such, they are largely immune from economic downturns that effect the population at large. Is that why they can support socialist candidates and policies which are almost certain to curtail economic expansion? Do they really think this would be good for the economy, or do they just not care?

They earn 50% to 200% profits in a year from stock markets nonsense trading (buy and sell). They are taking away all the money from people.
