Disabling 'clips' in signatures

I don't know about anyone else but I find the small clips in some signatures incredibly annoying here. They slow the site down to a crawl when I scroll past them and really add nothing more than extra space at the end of people posts. Is there a way to disable those clips without mangling other websites?

you could turn off signatures in your user control panel.

or block the offending clip with a content blocker in your browser.

Thanks, found the show signatures option. Must have missed that earlier. I hate to turn them off but it is better than suffering the few that need to put an idiotic clip in their sig line.
