I've not heard one way or the other. 
I know they have the rifle/casing (the rifle was recovered with the spent casing still in the chamber) but did the bullet head to parts unknown or was it recovered? Today's hunting bullets hold up pretty well, even with a spine hit.
Not that it really matters, just curious......Given all of the other evidence that has been collected thus far, that would just be adding gravy; the meal has already been prepared.
