Did the Germans neglect the Air Force ??

Bigest mistake was bombing cities. Had they stayed after Britains airfields the result may have changed.

They allowed Britains airforce to regroup.

They figured out how to make a jet plane but they ran out of resources and manpower.

Germany and UK figured it out first. It was pretty much a tie between the USA, UK and Germany. all fielded jet fighters within a year of each other. Neither jumped on production because of no perceived need.

Tell that to the U.S. pilots that were shot down by German made jets. The US didn't field a jet until the Korean conflict.

They had great pilots and excellent technology!
Did they just manufacture too little or did they fail to upgrade the technology

German AF had huge loses in the Battle of Britain

German army was the best in the world but it seems they got most of the funds
The Brits had radar at the entire southern coast. They always knew when and where the Germans attack.

Wrong, the U.S. had deployed P-80s in Italy before the end of the war. They weren’t deployed as escort fighters in Northern Europe because even though the P-80 had half again the range of a Me-262, they lacked the endurance to escort slow bombers. The 262 had a 650 mile range ( a little over an hour’s endurance). The P-80 had a 850 mile range (about an hour and a half endurance).

By the time of Korea, the U.S. was fielding at least five jet fighters, the F-80, F-86, F-84 and Panther and Banshee. The Brits only had one: the Vampire, the Soviets one: the MiG-15.

The U.K. probably stole it from the Germans but the U.S. had no espionage network. The Germans developed missile technology and the U.S. had to kidnap a Nazi, Von Braun, to develop the technology.

Wrong, A Brit named Whittle invented the jet engine and was working on it in 1930. The German's first jet engine, the HeS-3 that burned liquid fuel wasn't even bench tested until March 1938. It far more likely that the Germans stole the idea from the British as Whittle was working for a private company and nothing he was doing was classified before the war. Robert Goddard launched the world's first liquid fueled rocket in March 1926. The Germans didn't launch their first liquid fueled rocket until 1932. With no governmental support Goddard was launching liquid fueled rockets all through the thirties. The Germans led by Von Braun developed the first ballistic missile because bombers couldn't survive in Allied airspace. It cost most to loft a one-ton warhead 190 miles than any damage that warhead could do.

I bow to your knowledge of jet history.

It was just five minutes or so of research. The internet is a wonderful thing. I knew Goddard was among the first rocketeers and Power Jets basically invented the jet turbine engine, but i needed to verify the facts before posting. I have read so many novels that sometimes I get "facts" from novels and facts from history confused.

The UK developed the jet engine first under Whittle.

Correct and the Germans didn't have reliable radio communications because of that, also even though for the most part the Germans had high tech weapons they still used a lot of Horse power.

They had the Enigma. They actually had to shift the focus. For example they already shifted to the airforce but the eastern theatre did not go the way they planned and had to shift back and focus on the ground forces again.

Yes but the British broke Enigma.
