Did SCOTUS look at the expenditures by USAID?

Republicans have had opportunity after opportunity to put conservative judges in over many years and decades. Progressive have no problem putting theirs in. If Trump has a chance to replace any judges, he needs to make sure the RINOS who push the judges are not involved. Progs even forced out Judge Breyer due to his age to get a younger Prog in there with Joe. With all of the extreme activist judges this is dicey.
Amy Coney Barrett has been a disappointment.

In my not-so-humble opinion, this is a window into the heat and soul of the Rightwing in America today. This sort of thing happened when CJ Robert's wrote a few opinions the right disagreed with, but this goes far beyond even those nasty attacks on CJ Roberts.

"But while Roberts has drawn the ire of conservatives in the past, most notably with his 2012 vote to save President Barack Obama’s Affordable Care Act, most of the anger on Wednesday and Thursday was directed at Barrett."

I have to wonder where the Christian Right will be on this. Will they come out and defend Justice Barrett, lob assaults at her, or just sit by the sidelines and stay mum?

The right demands a rightwing political correctness on everything including views on the law.

Justice Amy Coney Barrett ignites anger on the right after ruling against Trump

Conservative allies of President Donald Trump called Supreme Court Justice Amy Coney Barrett “evil,” a “closet Democrat” and a “DEI hire.”
On podcasts and social media, conservative allies of President Donald Trump called the former law professor and appeals court judge “evil,” a “closet Democrat” and a “DEI hire.”
Barrett and Chief Justice John G. Roberts Jr. joined the court’s three liberals in backing a federal judge’s order that requires the administration to begin repaying global health groups nearly $2 billion for completed work.
It was the second time in two months that the two Republican nominees had voted with Justices Sonia Sotomayor, Elena Kagan and Ketanji Brown Jackson to turn down a request from Trump, and the latest example of Barrett breaking with the high court’s conservative bloc on a closely watched ruling.

Nope.

.

Nope. Robert's IS a sellout, and stepped well out of the bounds of his role by "considering it a tax"; rather than judging it for how it was written.
Barret on the other hand merely upheld the Congressional decision on how to spend. Which is their constitutional purview, no matter how misguided, or treacherous. She merely held to what the constitution says. Congress needs to spend more wisely in the future...

There's a reason for that.

Unfortunately, today you have to be a lawyer to be a Judge. I've met 1 or 2 conservative lawyers in my day. Nationally, something like 94% of lawyers are dimocrap scum. The American Lawyers Guild (aka: scum-sucking dimocrap filth guild of thieves) are the biggest donors to the dimocrap scum party. Look it up.

Your quote, while an astute observation, is like saying, "Gee, I can't find one Nun that will manage my Whorehouse for me. Not one!"

Conservatives don't become lawyers as a rule. They become Engineers, Doctors, etc. IOW, worthwhile activities. Being a lawyer is just about the lowest form of life on the Planet. It is why many Countries regulate, BY LAW, how many Lawyers there can be in their Country. Like Japan.

Yes, Japan does regulate the number of lawyers practicing in the country through a system managed by the Japan Federation of Bar Associations (JFBA), which oversees lawyer registration, qualifications, and disciplinary actions, effectively controlling the overall lawyer population within the nation; this means there is a set limit on how many lawyers can practice law in Japan at any given time.

As of January 1, 2024, there were 1,322,649 active lawyers in the United States. This is based on the American Bar Association's (ABA) National Lawyer Population Survey.

Right now the population of the United States is 340 Million. So you divide the number of bottom-feeding lawyers into the number of Americans and you come up with --

1 (One) Lawyer for every 257 People. And each lawyer earns around $150k per year. That is NOT counting the lawyers that are self-employed and file under a Sub-Section C Corp to the IRS. So it's probably a lot more, but we'll go with the $150k for now.

So 257 people are supporting one lying, thieving, stinking lawyer. So that's over $500 a year that lawyers are taking out of every person. So if you've got 4 people in your household, lawyers are taking stealing over $2,000 a year away from your family.

But hey! They know better how to use it. Why leave it in the hands of the unwashed masses. Better for the elites to have it, amirite?!

It is not complicated. Republicans have had many opportunities over the years to install conservative judges. Judges that Progressives never have an issue with their agendas and views. In this age where Progs lower court judges are arbiters of laws and overturning everything their masters want, this is damning. You guys are getting ready to legalize children getting raped in restrooms legally due to this.

Now whose fault is that? Trump appointed her, and if she is not "loyal" enough, is it not because Trump did not vet her sufficiently?

It is a real tragedy when a Supreme Court Justice acts independently, on her own, without showing sufficient loyalty to the president who blessed her with the appointment. In fact, in a perfect world, she would contact him for counsel and guidance before making any decisions on anything. Common sense really.

It's only right to pay folks for contracted services completed. The admin also has every right to terminate the contracts.

You wasn't blabbing that bullshit when Trump appointed her.
For some reason over many decades Republicans end up nominating shills for the Supreme Court. Progs never do....for some reason. Trump picked from a list from the RINOS/NEO CONS/Swampers.

Fascism doesn't believe in individuality OP, it believes in conformity.

Right now Barrett has found herself on the wrong side of the current fascist system for not confirming to their wishes.

Keep her in your prayers, because these people are unhinged and violent.

That is not what you were saying at the time she was appointed.
At the time appointed people believed she was conservative. If this keeps up at some point people will lose faith in the judicial ranch. And you Progs have with SCOTUS. They are needed to clean up massive excesses. Civilization needs to survive.
