The only reason they want Epstein "files" released is that they are sure that Trumps name exists there. Maybe they met, hung out in a crowd, shared a story or two, he was coaxed into a plane ride. Whatever, it was 25-30 years ago and Trump was being Trump, hanging with wealthy pepple. As Trump said emphatically and this is important; "I never visited his island". This is a big statement because if Trump were a diddler he would be exposing himself as it means it would have happened in the U.S since he never visited Epsteins island. It's not "breaking news"; that was when Dems had control of the Senate.

My baseline assumption is that establishment figures from both parties are dreading the release of whatever's in those investigative files.

The other aspect to tall this is that we're talking about criminal investigation files. You can't just release those to satiate scandal-hungry twitter trolls.

We're talking about people who are extremely well connected, people who have security detail. And say what one will about both, but you don't get to be President of the U.S. or a business tycoon without having some street smarts.

I can only speculate on what actually took place, but both men have a documented record of sexual misconduct, independent of their association with Epstein. Both men have very obvious ties to Epstein and spent time in his presence. Anyone who says that there's not a lot of smoke here is being a partisan.
