I think Ted Cruz vs. Bernie Sanders would have been fantastic for America. It's so black and white. It would have told us exactly which direction we were heading as a nation. Too bad it didn't happen.

I hate this so much. Reality has shown us which direction the nation is heading. The nation leans left. Especially on social issues.

But you talk to "real conservatives" and you get that whole "well if we had a REAL CONSERVATIVE for once blah blah blah landside victory" argument over and over

You guys JUST had like 10 to pick from. And none of them survived the primary

This is a special kind of ignorance. If the nation "leans" so "left" - then why do Democrats nominate people like Barack Obama who paid to bailout corporations like GM and Chrysler and all of Wall Street? Isn't that the "corporate welfare" you guys wail against?

A Republican presidential candidate hasn't won the popular vote since the 80s. Romney and McCain performed horribly in swing states. Conservatives lost the social issue of same-sex marriage and public opinion seems to be people don't want to fight over the bathroom issue the LGBT crowd is concerned over. There is an immense negative stigma with the concept of conservatism and the Republican brand. My demographic by and large prefers liberal ideas and the democratic platform over conservative ideology and Republican politicians
