A waiting perod before the purchaser can take possession of the gun, so that the check can be thorough. Is that such a great infringement on the right to own guns?

No we mean laws that PREVENT law abiding citizens from owning or carrying firearms. Not background checks not even reasonable waiting periods. Like New York where only the politically correct and x cops can have firearms or CC permits.

Detroit probably has similar laws that PREVENT ownership. Like Washington DC where owning a firearm had to be won by the Supreme Court. And is still so restricted as to be criminal.

But you know this and are trying to deflect the issue to one you think you can win.
