That's the right talking point so far at least, but there's little doubt that DeSantis is playing on the fact that it's costing America billions/trillions. So I'm suggesting that the war can become a feather in the cap of Trump or DeSantis, or whoever tries to own it.

All candidates will have some fear of owning it, as you suggest.
