Squatters are a serious problem in most parts of the country and at least republicans in Florida are responding

It's mind boggling that Americans have sat back and allowed Dimocrat lawmakers to create scenarios like this in the first place.
It's great that DeSantis and his state's Republicans have come up with this new law, but it's incredible that it's even necessary.

these "sovereign citizens" are stealing peoples homes. you think this is a "tough law?"

• A first-degree misdemeanor for making a false statement in writing to obtain real property or for knowingly and willfully presenting a falsified document conveying property rights;
• A second-degree felony for any person who unlawfully occupies or trespasses in a residential dwelling and who intentionally causes $1,000 or more in damages; and
• A first-degree felony for knowingly advertising the sale or rent of a residential property without legal authority or ownership.

the problem comes when the home owner files the complaint and the police find that the current occupants have legal, recorded deeds in their names. the problem is establishing ownership when that recorded deed is forged.

please provide a link, a reference, or something i can check on that. this seems to happen a lot in louisiana , florida, you know, places where democrats are irrelevant.

if it becomes too easy to evict legal tenants that is a mistake, but at any rate, most of these cases are resolved, but do require a few billable hours to reestablish a valid title and serve the eviction.

all on the homeowner, by the way, these squatters will be long gone before then.
