This OP leaves out a lot of valid questions. How much does a U.K. news source know about what goes on in a Florida school district and was any of the information they published fact checked by them?

How much spin, propaganda, extenuating omission and misinformation is used by partisan MSM to disparage the Florida governor and its mostly conservative legislature?

Ron DeSantis himself has gone public to protest the ridiculous removal of books from school libraries that in no way violate the very specific rulings on curriculum for young children and suggests, most likely quite accurately, that these incidents are strictly intended to add political narratives and stir up controversy. Many examples cited have been proved to be pure hoaxes. The State of Florida has banned no books. Any person can order or buy them at will. It has ruled that certain content is inappropriate and can be harmful for young children and those are disallowed in the public schools. For those of us who think young children should be allowed the innocence of childhood and should never be subject to grooming or sexualization completely support the State of Florida's ruling on that.

There is a HUGE difference in stating what is inappropriate for school curriculum and banning books. And it is the Orlando School Board's over-reaction to the ruling and not the state that caused the removal of what should be perfectly acceptable content in a school library.

Paradise Lost is perhaps being reviewed because of its religious nature. Anyway lots of books were being banned when I was in HS and lots were being banned when my pappy was in high school and well my grandpappy didn't need no schoolin so books were not allowed in his house. In fact, my english teacher gave us all a copy of the the 20 most banned books list at the time and gave us a point on our final average up to 5 points for every one not on our syllabus that we read and did a report on. She was saucy like that.
