Naturally, democrats in Congress are all getting their checks which is really all they care about.

The only way to end this childish and callous continuation of shutdowns in the future is to pass a law saying that the first people to not get paid are the Congressmen responsible for the shutdowns.

But again, Congress is far too corrupt to impose this on themselves.

The only problem with that is that, with a few exceptions, most congress critters wouldn't miss the salaries. They spend millions to get a job that pays $174,000. But maybe if they have to forego their salaries plus their staffers do not get paid and they are not allowed to spend a penny of taxpayer money for travel or any other expenses, that might have a good effect.
