Most Cities & States ruled by Democrats have become miserable Third World Nightmares. People are fleeing Blue States in droves. The only problem with that is that they're moving to Red States. How long will it be before these idiots infect and destroy the Red States too? I'm very happy & relieved i don't live in a Blue State. The state of CA is de facto bankrupt and they just refused to postpone business killing Prop 23. They have committed economic suicide and will ask the rest of the country to bail them out.

The problem with the US Auto industry is it rested on the laurels of it's own reputation and arrogantly believed Americans would continue to buy as long as it said GM, Ford Or Chrysler on it. We are for the most part, savvy consumers. We see the difference between value and price. Japanese, Korean, German or Swedish cars are neither cheap or inferior. deal with it.

Detroit's issues have nothing--zero--to do with outsourcing. We have plenty of domestic auto manufacturing jobs. Nissan, VW, Mercedes, BMW, Honda--all have domestic operations. None of them is located in Detroit, even though the trained workers and infrastructure already exist precisely because of high taxes, powerful unions, and extensive regulation in that city.

I agree that the Democrats/progressives coalition caused the nation to go into bankruptcy in 1935 ; we have never recovered.

But Eisenhower, and every Republican since then has had the opportunity to reverse the welfare/warfare state policies but have refused to do so.
