1. As stated this was no landslide. Harris was supposed to cram what takes years into a 3 month campaign. That she came close is amazing. In addition, you had a low turnout.

2. I would suggest that you look at recent elections. Democrats have won the mayor's in red Omaha, Nebraska. A Iowa state Senate race in Iowa, that Trump won by 11 went to the Democrats by 10. A state Senate race in SC that Harris won by 6 went to the Democrat by 21. Joni Ernst dropped out of her re-election race because she was trailing.

3. Being against Trump is all that they need. Voters disapprove of Trump's bill by around 60% to 70%. They do not support the cuts in food stamps, Medicare and other safety net programs just to give big tax cuts to the rich. Trump is now underwater on every issue. They do not support Trump's goon squads.

I'm not a political scholar but I am a pragmatic repairman. Sometimes you have to recognize that a thing is so broken, it can't be fixed.

The Democrat party, unfortunately, is in that category. Beyond the point of no return.

So, a good repairman salvages any parts that may be of use, and the rest is committed for burial at the local landfill with the rest of the useless refuse.
