That is every taxpayers bill for all of the wage subsidy is being paid to Walmart employees in earned income credits, food stamps, Medicare and Medicaid, section 8, and other social assistance that their low paid workers qualify for.
Given that Walmart is the largest retail employer in the USA, their policies have a huge impact on the sector.
In recent years, Walmart has lost business to online shopping, and now tariffs, but their predator business practices have enriched the Walton family while cratering mom and pop businesses, and local tax bases throughout the nation, and driving down worker wages.
Fair wages would be a far better help to American workers than predator companies who screw over their own workers as well as taxpayers.
