Probably 2/3 of the Democrats in Congress have been outright socialists for decades. The only difference now is that they believe they can come out of the closet.

So why do you think they felt they had to lie about being Socialists???

Here is the scary truth, the U.S had decided long ago to embrace socialists. Your intelligence agencies are conned into believing that it's a "global world and intelligence sharing is necessary" (great way for low performing foreign agencies to get a free ride and influence the U.S), U.S businesses talk about how great socialist nations are for the economy (as long as they get taxpayer funding from said nation), you can go on and on.

America used to put their foot down and tell other nations "you are either with us or against us, capitalist and liberty, or socialist and oppressive" Now it's, "well you know every country is different. All people are special in their own way, even if they embrace socialism and steal our jobs".

There should be basic premises for close relationships, they should be only working relationships and not so invasive in your system. Either nations embrace American Values or they are not really allies. Now you have socialists all over as they've been fed the great warm and fuzzy lines from your "allies" You education system embraces it and Millennials are raised to believe "we are all winners, just show up with your hands out and you get a ribbon". I often can't even distinguish between the old USSR economic system and what many socialist nations engage in.

This is the end result. I don't presume it will get better, your system has been flipped, all because some within lost their principles and fortitude.

There will of course have to be a government. Will it be large or small? I don't know. It certainly isn't getting smaller under either major party, could these folks really do any worse?

The next day: enjoy the fruits of your democratic socialism--a land of splendor where everyone is so equal and free that the first person to insult their neighbor's freedom by exercising their own freedom is charged with a hate crime and removed from society. A nation where convenience and grocery stores receive government allotments of food, fuel and medicine--not based on population density or need--but the value of their identity group's currency who live there. I'll put myself out there first.

I voted No.

I view myself politically as a Paleoconservative. Defense of culture, family and nation are of first importance in defining my political views. That being said, like many others, the journey to get 'here' has been a long one. Over four plus decades I have come full circle from conservative Democrat roots, to explorations of atheism, Hinduism, borderline radical leftism back to conservatism tradition of Christian roots and cultural preservation. Today, I find the concept of a socialist America to be a very troubling one; antithetical to the will of our Founders and the foundation concept of the Constitution. Ultimately, I believe in a balance between liberalism and conservatism under which tradition can be preserved while a degree of liberal philosophy prevents stagnation and popular push for radical change.

Really. A paleocon huh. I ran into some of those back when we were running Ron. I got along with em okay.

While Ringelstein and other DSA-backed candidates promote a "big-tent" philosophy, the DSA constitution describes their members as socialists who "reject an economic order based on private profit" and "share a vision of a humane social order based on popular control of resources and production, economic planning, equitable distribution, feminism, racial equality and non-oppressive relationships."

Members during public meetings often refer to each other "comrades," wear clothing featuring socialist symbols like the rose and promote authors such as Karl Marx.
