I do not approve of this either, but I believe the logic behind it is that people who make bad choices (smoking, obesity, whatever) eventually can have a direct cost impact on the government when it commes to healthcare. Now, if our government had never created MediCare and other social programs designed to help Americans get access to healthcare, perhaps this wouldn't be an issue, but they did and so it is...

A year ago the FDA was handed control of tobacco with the power to regulate it short of banning it and they have done nothing to get the poison chemicals out of tobacco that are added for flavor. Their payoff must be great to keep this sham going.

Their are foods that should be banned from the market starting with Monsanto GM products and many food additives that are poisoning people and are know cancer causing agents.
