Democracy is disappearing right before our eyes.

Defying Congress, Trump Moves to Cut $4.9 Billion in Foreign Aid

The White House has informed Congress it intends to cancel $4.9 billion that lawmakers approved for foreign aid programs, invoking a little-known and legally untested power to slash spending without their approval.

The 15-page notification, sent to Congress on Thursday night and reviewed by The New York Times, is the administration’s first effort to push through what is known as a “pocket rescission.” It is an effort to unilaterally claw back money that has already been appropriated by waiting so late in the fiscal year to make the request that lawmakers do not have time to reject it before the funding expires.

The fiscal year ends on Sept. 30, before the 45-day period in which Congress is required to consider a rescission request from the White House. Republicans could bring the matter to a vote sooner, but party leaders have shown little appetite for resisting the president’s spending demands and asserting their own prerogatives.

If supporters of all things Don weren't for this before they sure as shootin' are for it now. Usurping congressional authority on spending by means of a novel, dubiously legal gambit? It goes without saying, not a problem.

Diminishing our influence in the world, leaving a vacuum for countries like China to fill. Remember when Nixon said, ""Well, when the president does it, that means that it is not illegal." Ditto for Don for trump devotees.

But hey........

What the hell does foreign aid spending have to do with democracy.

Trump has been a failure for over 50 years.

DAY ONE.

You're dear leader said it over 100 times.

What's so hard to understand?
Trump created over 500 business corporations and has filed for bankruptcy on 6 of those. That, my liberal friend is a success to failure ratio that is off the charts good.

I ask my question again. If Trump stops the war and it takes him a year to do so...is he a failure?

You mean the LLC's he created so he could launder money?

A judge hands Trump a legal rebuke over his troop deployment in L.A.

The Trump administration illegally used thousands of military troops in Southern California, a federal judge said on Tuesday, in a ruling that accused the president of effectively turning nearly 5,000 Marines and National Guard soldiers into a national police force.

The ruling, by Judge Charles R. Breyer of the Federal District Court in San Francisco, came more than two months into a contentious deployment that was set off by immigration protests in June and has since dwindled to about 300 National Guard soldiers. The judge ordered that the remaining troops should either be released or limited to guarding federal buildings, but he placed his injunction on hold for 10 days.

Add another illegal action to the list.

Created, most never even got off the ground.
You know why?
No investors he could steal from.
I ask my question again. If Trump stops the war and it takes him a year to do so...is he a failure?
YES.

The fault lies obviously with those so stupid, frightened, and willfully ignorant as to vote for Trump – they’re ultimately responsible for the end of American democracy.

The people are solely responsible for the bad government they get – and Trump is the worst.
History tells us that very few will believe that democracy is at stake.

They will wake up one morning to find that it's gone.

Is there any way to destroy fascism now that it's too late?

If/when Gavin disappears, will that make any difference?

Moves to, as in using lawful means to achieve an end. Democrats either don't know what democracy means or they are just tossing around today's new BlueAnon conspiracy theory. How sad.

Demos first need to understand that bringing back the same old bullsh-t one-party system for the very wealthy, just won't work. That's the reason why Trump was able to make himself a dictator in the first place.

America needs something entirely new if it ever wants to stop fascism.

And that 'something' isn't going to be pretty!

Another one who doesn't know my politics.

You are one of the communists who was clever enough not to go full activist retard. Then you crow about how you are not one of 'them.' It must be frustrating that your proven techniques of buying votes to steal from working people was interrupted by the activist communists. You had a good thing going. Pure top heavy thievery with an enslaved voting class taking their handouts.

I wonder how many countries would show up to or help to defend the US now?

After that dickhead POS, had the gall to of course............. BRAG.

On 9/11 Trump bragged he now had tallest building in Manhattan

'Forty Wall Street actually was the second-tallest building in downtown Manhattan,' Mr Trump said erroneously on 9/11. 'Now it's the tallest.'

Twenty-one years after 9/11, we can still hear Donald Trump’s reaction to the terrorist attacks – and it was a strange one.

That’s because on 11 September, 2001, the future US president called into the TV station WWOR to talk about the day’s tragic events. Then, oddly, he turned his attention to the height of one of his properties, which he falsely claimed was now the tallest building in lower Manhattan.

“Well, it was an amazing phone call,” Mr Trump told WWOR. “I mean, 40 Wall Street actually was the second-tallest building in downtown Manhattan. And it was actually – before the World Trade Center – was the tallest. And then when they built the World Trade Center, it became known as the second-tallest, and now it’s the tallest.”
They were never going to defend us, they were to busy robbing us.

15th post
You Trumptards keep claiming that.

Trump said on Thursday that ending the Russia-Ukraine war was "so easy to do" and would happen "within 24 hours" using his negotiation skills.

LOL.
Illegal immigration has miraculously stopped. You guys said it couldn't be done. We wanted to clean up government waste, well on its way. We wanted to quit being the patsy of every country on earth, how about that. More private sector jobs instead of the ever ballooning government empire, well done. I'm fairly satisfied. Bondi needs to get her butt in gear. They say powerful people can't be prosecuted, but there needs to be a reckoning. It is also nice that the FBI is no longer going after enemies of the Democrat Party.

In 2023, the U.S. government provided $200 million in assistance to India for its COVID-19 relief efforts. India has a space program!!

Nevermind the US, in the UK I'm all for scrapping foreign aid. Look at your debt, you're taking money off those that don't have it and giving it to those that don't need it.
