I once had a friend of Dave Ramsey who kept offering me one of Ramsey's books to read. A real Ramsey zealot.

I agreed I would trade him. I would read Ramsey's book if he would read Alexis de Tocqueville's Democracy in America. He readily agreed.

I finished Ramsey's book in about one hour. It was very simplistic, filled with simplistic advice which should be common sense to everyone. Unfortunately, some people actually need a "University" to tell them not to spend more than they make!

My friend returned my book in a couple days. It was too much for him. He couldn't deal with it.
